We will have approximately 40 plant species available for browsing on SATURDAY, MAY 9, 2026 from 10 am to 2 pm (central time) at the Kankakee Sands Native Plant Nursery (1492 W 250 N, Morocco, IN). We are not having a pre-order sale this year.
There will be a limit of 100 plants per person. Plants are grown in 2-inch by 4-inch pots and will be $2 per plant. All donations from the sale support conservation efforts in Newton Co., Indiana.

Seeds for our sale are locally collected by volunteers within the Kankakee Sands ecoregion. Our plants are grown in The Nature Conservancy’s Kankakee Sands greenhouse. We are grateful to The Nature Conservancy in Indiana for generous use of their greenhouse space. Many thanks to TNC’s Restoration Ecologist, Alyssa Nyberg, for nurturing our seedlings with care and love. And a huge THANK YOU to all of our volunteers who clean seed, fill soil trays, transplant seedlings, write out thousands of plant tags, and give us all the support we need to make this sale a success! We cannot do this without you!

Friends of the Sands offers only native plants and we do not grow non-native, invasive plants. We are listed in the Buy Natives Directory for the Indiana Native Plant Society. We never use neonicotinoid pesticides or any pesticides on our plants.
